Albert Bierstadt's Valley of theYosemite This 42-cent stamp honors the panoramic landscape paintings of Albert Bierstadt (1830-1902), the eighth issue in the American Treasures series.

Thursday - August 14, 10:30 a.m.

Marshall Islands Portraits of the Wild West
The Marshall Islands Postal Service will issue a pane of 16 Portraits of the Wild West commemorative stamps on Thursday. Although no official ceremony is planned by the MIPS, APS is working with Chris Calle, the Connecticut-based designer of these and many other stamps, and with local officials and organizations to ensure that the first day for these historical adhesives isas colorful as the men andwomen whose lives they celebrate.

Friday - August 15, 12 noon42-cent Sunflower
This unofficial first-day ceremony will mark the nationwide release of a multicolored Sunflower definitive stamp.

Saturday - August 16, 11 a.m.
