"Only Together Can Our Hobby Grow”

The Young Philatelic Leaders Fellowship provides enriching and dynamic experiences in the philatelic world for:
Junior Fellows, ages 13 to 17, for one year. (Junior YPLF application)
Senior Fellows, ages 18 to 25, for two years (Senior YPLF application)

All costs for each Fellow are paid for by the YPLF, to include travel, accommodations, and meals.  The meals for an accompanying parent or guardian are also covered. Applicants must complete and submit an application form by the March 31st deadline. An online application is available.

As a YPLF Fellow, you will have fun with other youth stamp collectors; experience the world of stamp collecting from the inside; visit important sites that all stamp collectors want to see; produce articles and presentations based on your interests and research; and gain experiences to make you a better student and leader — not to mention you will get all sorts of great stamps and philatelic material!

What You Can Do As An YPLF Fellow:

    • Attend the summer American Philatelic Society StampShow. • Meet with other Fellows at the Show and make philatelic friends. • Learn about the three Tracks from which you will choose to focus your year’s activities: Dealer, Presenter, Author. • Shadow dealers, exhibitors, and authors in the philatelic world. • Gain an adult mentor who has experience in your chosen Track. • Complete research of your chosen topic. • Visit the National Postal Museum in Washington, D.C.. • Visit the American Philatelic Society headquarters in Bellefonte, PA. • Present your research to stamp clubs and groups in your home area. • Attend the winter APS AmeriStamp Expo. • Finish your year at the next summer’s APS StampShow.
