Crete Scott 38, Poseidon’s Trident

One of these stamps is a genuine Crete Scott 38 and the other is a forgery. Can you tell the difference?
If you are having trouble, see the "hints" and answer below.

Hints:

  1. Genuine stamp: The leaf to the right of the “N” is narrow and has ribs. Foot of trident is conical.
  2. Forged stamp: Leaf to the right of the “N” is wider with no ribs. Foot of trident is mostly straight.
