100 Match Factory Place, Bellefonte, PA 16823
July 13-17, 2020
Volunteer Work Week Particpants make a difference!!
What to Expect
The week begins on Monday at 9 a.m. with a welcome reception, followed by a tour of the American Philatelic Center. Participants will then “get to work” on a project in an assigned department. The amount of time and number of days spent volunteering are up to each individual participant. There are many projects to be accomplished during the week, in every department, so volunteer time is thoughtfully utilized by staff.
During the week, the American Philatelic Research Library and Circuit Sales will be open “after hours” just for Volunteer Work Week participants and there will be time to dig for treasure in a large pile of stamps. The week will conclude with a “thank-you” luncheon and time for sharing stories about accomplishments realized during the week.
Travel, lodging, and most food will be the participants' responsibility, but your out of pocket expenses are tax deductible. See Local Lodging for ideas where to stay.
Sample Volunteer Tasks:
- Scanning stamp images for internet upload
- Preparing Badges for APS StampShow
- Sorting/refilling books by category
- Sorting periodical & auction catalogues
- Scanning material for future articles
- Sorting/Organizing donated material
Registration will open on January 1st. Thank you for your overwhelming support this past year!
Come for the week, come for a day - we look forward to working with you!
