Remember Me

Welcome to the New www.Stamps.org

We welcome you to the new www.stamps.org and want to provide you with some guidance on getting around the site.

NOTE: To fully access our new site you must set up a new user account even if you had one on the old system. Click on "Sign-Up" in the glassine at upper right.

  1. Set up your account - The new site provides access to view your APS profile information, member only content, purchases and donations, stamps for sale, to add money on account, and more! So you first need to set up your account - See Quick Instructions.

  2. Log-in everytime you visit - Once you set up your account we encourage you to log-in everytime you visit the site by using the glassine area at the top right of the screen. As soon as you log-in the glassine area will show your name, APS# and let you know if you have items in your cart or wishlist, messages from the APS and links you to MyAPS!

  3. Navigation - The home page is the map to our site. Scroll over the blue navigational bar below the header and you can see the subjects covered in each tab. If you don’t see what you are looking for you can go to the red bar at the top of each page and find what you are looking for by providing a term for the search feature. The red bar at the top also allows you to go to the MyAPS area or to print a page.

Note that the file folder on the right side of the page also has four tabs. By default news currently shows. To see new items posted to the site each month click on the monthly features. This provides a direct link to the latest American Philatelist, downloadable album pages, peek at the Reference Collection, and monthly wall paper. The Upcoming event tab provides a mini-calendar of major APS events. Each month we also tell you about one stamp on our StampStore.

The footer of the home page also includes valuable information including our address and phone, information on advertising on the site, terms of use for the site, contact information for staff, board and committees, and links to social media.

  4. MyAPS - Remember to visit MyAPS often where you will find tabs to features like:

Members-Only which includes access to the digital edition of The American Philatelist, monthly member specials, online exhibits, tips, and more. You are able to manage your membership anytime day or night.

MyAccount - where members may pay their dues and see recent purchases and donations to the Society or Library. MyAccount also allows members to add funds to their account or pay for purchases. Proceeds from StampStore will be displayed in your account and may be used to pay for submission fees, purchases, and even advertising.

MyProfile - update your contact information in the MyProfile section — create seasonal, transfer, and web-only addresses; register collecting interests, and change your password at your convenience.

MyStamps - offers members the ability to check the status of their items submitted for sale on StampStore and make modification to any unsold items.

My Quick IDs - provides information on any items submitted for identification.

  5. Touring www.stamps.org - Many enhancements also have been added to the public portion of the website.

The Stamp Collecting tab features more information for beginning collectors, improved search capabilities for dealers and clubs (including searches based on a radius from any U.S. zip code), information on new U.S. stamps, award-winning "Articles of Distinction" from APS chapter and affiliate publications, downloadable album pages, computer wallpaper, and more.

About APS contains contact information for staff, committees, the board and APS representatives. Updated historical information, APS numbers assigned by year, past presidents of the Society, and a newsroom can be accessed by all viewers. This area also includes plans and reports and financial information. While linked from the public section of the website, some items such as the budget and audited financial statements are only accessible to members who log in.

The Membership tab includes the opportunity to give a gift membership, member verification procedures, and information on Society awards.

The Services tab is the heart of the website which provides members with detailed information on Society services such as the Library, circuit sales, insurance, and expertizing as well as opportunities estate planning, translations, book publishing, and stamp thefts.

The new Teacher and Leaders Resource pages provide educators with lesson plans, activities, and worksheets that use postage stamps as hands-on learning tools. Educators can use these tools to add some fun and interest to their current curriculum while exposing students to postage stamps.

The Library’s online Union Catalog features the holdings of six philatelic libraries and a new enhanced search interface.

The Shop tab includes nine different stores — the APS Stamp-Store, publications, digital publications, logo merchandise, ties, hobby supplies, event souvenirs, and the DVD shop. StampStore search features have been significantly upgraded. Members may now search on any combination of fields including price range and non-Scott catalogue numbers. Now the search results include thumbnail images.

A single unified cart may be used to purchase items from any or all of the shops. Discounted prices offered to members will be shown. Both members and non-members may establish a wish list of items for possible future purchase.

Events and Shows tab allows users to search for APS-sponsored and other educational events, bourses, and exhibitions. Searches may be performed by category, date range, and proximity to a location. This tab also includes a manual for running a stamp show, information on judges and judging, and a list of exhibition winners.

The final tab, Support the Hobby, provides information on donations, volunteering, and promoting membership.

While the new website is a significant step forward, additional content and features will be added on a regular basis.
