Austin Texas Stamp Club
Profile
Welcome
The Austin Texas Stamp Club was founded in 1938. Since then, many with an interest in philately, from novices to more experienced collectors of all ages, have gathered to learn about our hobby, trade stamps and to participate in many of the activities the club has to offer (see our Bylaws). Today the club has about 70 members.
Membership / Meetings
The club welcomes anyone interested in stamp collecting!
Dues are $15.00 per year for adults, $8.00 for 18-year-olds and younger.

The Austin-Texas Stamp Club meets the first and third Tuesdays of each month. All meetings have a short business segment followed by a planned activity.
On the first Tuesday, we meet at the Lakewood Homeowners Association Clubhouse, 7317 Lakewood Drive, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm – This meeting is an auction of member-submitted lots. The auction is generally 50 to 90 lots, consisting of a great variety of stamps, albums, covers, etc. Prices range from a minimum of $1.00 to several hundreds of dollars; normally 60 to 70% of the lots sell. We set up the auction at 7:00 pm, bidders view the lots, and after the short business meeting at 7:30 pm, the bidding begins. Club-owned copies of Scott catalogs for the last two years are available for members to peruse and check out. Boxes of stamps are available for members to buy US and foreign stamps cheaply.
On the third Tuesday we meet via Zoom or at the South Austin Senior Activity Center (see schedule). Meetings feature presentations by club members or others about stamp-related subjects.
See our Program Calendar for meeting details.
Questions about an inherited collection? Generally, if you live in the Austin area, the best idea is to bring some or all of the collection to one of our meetings and we will let you know if we think the collection has value and advise you on your next step. You can also send images of the collection to Mr. Prokop or Mr. Shively at their email address above. What we offer is not an appraisal, but we may recommend one, available through some dealers (a list of dealers is on the American Philatelic Society website) and will require a fee to complete.
