Alcohol and Food Products: United States Taxpaid Revenues

A 2-Day Course Presented by Eric Jackson

Monday, June 22 – Tuesday, June 23, 2020

How can one properly identify revenue stamps? The Springer’s Catalog holds important information for understanding taxpaid revenues.

Course Description:

The Scott U.S. Specialized Catalogue lists less than half of the revenue stamps authorized and issued by the federal government. The Springer’s Catalog contains a much more comprehensive view. Use the Springer’s Catalog to explore the stamps used for; distilled spirits, oleomargarine, adulterated and process butter, mixed flour, filled cheese, meat inspection, and much more. Be privy to the stories driving the tax increases and decreases for each category of alcohol and food product.
After spending two days focusing on this specific area of revenues, you will be able to: recognize the categories of U.S. federal taxpaids for alcohol and food products, decipher listings for a selection of taxpaid revenues found in the Springer’s Catalog, and recognize printing methods used to produce the revenues discussed.

Intended Audience:

Collectors of taxpaids and those who wish to embark on the collecting of this large field of revenue stamps.
No prior knowledge of revenue stamps is required.
