Researching Postal History in Washington, DC

A Seminar Presented by Susan Smith, Winton M. Blount Research Chair

Course Description:

As the home of the federal government, Washington DC has important collections for researching American postal history and philately. This presentation will provide an overview of the holdings of archives and libraries and the logistics of arranging research visits.

Meet the Instructor

Susan Smith, Winton M. Blount Research Chair

Dr. Susan Smith is the Winton M. Blount Research Chair at the Smithsonian National Postal Museum. She joined the staff in August 2016 after a career teaching European history at the university level. In her position at the NPM, she carries out research for exhibits and organizes the Blount Postal History Symposium held in Washington DC.
