Kristine A. McIntosh
Kristine A. McIntosh, a retired high school U.S. history teacher, began collecting first day covers in 2008 for her business, FDC Lessons (available on the APS C3a website, https://aps.buzz/C3aPlatform). As a vendor at national and state social studies conventions, she has given away thousands of first day covers and introduced teachers to the power of philately to hook students on history. Her personal collection focuses on women connected to the 19th Amendment. Her first exhibit in 2015 of the 1936 Susan B. Anthony issue has grown from four frames and a silver ribbon to nine frames and a large gold in 2020. Her one frame Progress of Women won silver in 2018 and has grown to four frames and a Vermeil in 2020. Like Susan B. Anthony, Kris believes that “failure is impossible.”
