The American Philatelic Center operating hours over the Christmas and New Year's holidays will be adjusted. This will allow employees of the American Philatelic Society and the American Public Research Library to spend time with their families and celebrate the season.
For Christmas, employees will receive an additional paid holiday off, as the facility will be closed on Thursday, December 24 (Christmas Eve), Friday, December 25 (Christmas Day) and Monday, December 28, 2020.
“This has been a challenging year and our team has gone above and beyond to keep the operations going with as little disruption as possible,” said Scott English, Executive Director, “We hope an extra day with family around the holidays is just one way we’re expressing our gratitude.”
The American Philatelic Center remains closed to members and visitors, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The APC was put under new mitigation procedures announced by Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf. The APC will also be closed on Friday, January 1, 2020 (New Year's Day).“On behalf of the APS/APRL staff, I also want to express our thanks to our membership for their patience, understanding, and support. From everyone in Bellefonte, we wish you a very safe and Happy Holiday!”
