As the holiday season comes to a close and the new year begins, maybe you have spent a few extra hours going through your albums and pruning stamps from your collection. There’s no better time to get started selling through the American Philatelic Society than the present. The APS Sales Unit will make it easy to do so! We have two options for selling, Circuit Sales and StampStore .
Circuit Sales division – sell through the mail
It’s simple for APS members to sell stamps through the mail. Simply order special sales books from the Circuit Sales division. When they arrive, you can mount and describe each item and decide your asking price. Send the completed books back to Circuit Sales and they will do the rest! The Circuits team checks each book to make sure items are mounted properly, keeps track of what material you are selling for your protection as the seller, and then sends it out to at-home buyers to peruse. Your books will be seen by dedicated buyers over 18 months. For more information about terms of sale, frequently asked questions, and how we safeguard your material, click here.
To new StampStore and Circuits sellers (only)! Mention you saw this article for a free Stampstore and Circuits Seller packet with special offers to get you started selling.
StampStore.org – sell online
Many APS members find that selling online through StampStore is the easiest way to sell their material worldwide. All you have to do is print StampStore submission forms and a batch cover sheet, mount the items on the sheets and mark down the description and asking price, and mail the batch to the StampStore team. From there, the APS will take over! The StampStore team scans and enters the information for each item, adds it to StampStore website under your personal seller ID, and handles all communications with buyers of your material. We want to hear from you
The majority of members that use Circuit Sales and StampStore rely on the Scott catalog to make a want list, check pricing, color and types, and reference particular items they might want to purchase or sell. The other two catalogs commonly used are Stanley Gibbons and MICHEL. Through APS Sales, sellers can decide which catalog they wish to use to sell their items through circuit books or online at StampStore. The Sales Unit would love to hear from members who buy or sell through us on how they use catalogs when purchasing or selling. Just drop us a short note at [email protected]. We’d love to hear from you.
