A new contract postal unit (CPU) is now open in the American Philatelic Center, 100 Match Factory Place, Bellefonte. The American Philatelic Center CPU is operated by the American Philatelic Society and is under contract with the U.S. Postal Service to provide postal products and services to the public at USPS prices. The CPU’s business hours are 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. For holiday closings and special hours, see the APS website, stamps.org, for more information.
Since 2006, the APS has operated a contract postal unit in its headquarters, but the new facility offers expanded services beyond purchasing postage stamps.
The services provided at this location include the following:
A contract postal unit does not provide the full service a USPS Post Office offers, including post office boxes and delivery services. Drop-off services are also not available at this location outside of business hours.
The American Philatelic Center's entrance is at the rear of the Match Factory complex. Parking is free.
“We’ve called Bellefonte home for 20 years now and we’re proud to offer even more services to the community than ever before,” said Scott English, Executive Director of the American Philatelic Society. “Not only can you use our post office, but we invite you to tour our historic building, learn about stamp collecting, and enjoy all the businesses serving Bellefonte here at the Match Factory.”
With members in more than 110 countries, the APS is the largest, non-profit organization for stamp collectors in the world. Founded in 1886, the APS serves collectors, educators, postal historians and the general public by providing a wide variety of programs and services. Our members enjoy access to the one of the world's largest philatelic libraries, a monthly magazine and safe avenues for buying and selling philatelic materials.
