We all know that stamps teach. Stamps and postal history allow students and reserachers an opportunity to delve into the lives and times of people and places in the past. We are able to glean so many clues into the lives of those before us simply by examining covers. Philately is a gateway into culture, into history and is a resource that can be used to enhance our understanding of the past.
In honor of Black History Month, the APRL has put together a helpful bibliography for those studying African American postal history. You can find these books and resources by visiting the online catlog.
