Mr. Mejia joins us live from Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras. Mejia began stamp collecting at age 6, in 1991 and has continued to involve himself in philately ever since. He joined the Honduran Philatelic Federation in 2001 and is currently serving as Secretary and managing the social media for the Federation. Mr. Mejia is the Honduran commissioner on the world stamp shows including New York, 2016, Brasilia, 2017, London, 2020 (postponed until 2022) and Philanippon, 2021. Additionally, Mauricio is a member of the Thematic Philately Commission of the Inter-American Federation of Philately. His philatelic interests include Honduras, all issues since the first in 1865 and Honduran related flight covers.
This Stamp Chat will introduce Honduran philately from its inception in the late 1800's to contemporary postal history.
Check out the Mi Oficina Philatelic Society YouTube Channel for more philatelic programming. This global community has had a streak of over 155 days of Zoom meetings since March. Their dedication to the hobby and to fellowship is extraordinary.
