This is a delightful presentation from Mr. Irv Osterer, APS, SIP and RPSC member. Osterer was also a Chatty Award nominee for his presentation on stamps in the highschool classroom.
In addition to a Valentine's craft, Irv will show you Valentine's Day stamps from around the world. He also shows great cancellations with references so you can have YOUR Valentine's postmarked by these noteable locations.
Supplies you will need for the Valentine's craft:
1 small bottle of red ( or the colour of your choice) dollar store acrylic paint. MUST BE acrlylic and not tempera.
1 brush
1 nice round potato. (not a baking potato, a regular one)
envelopes stuffer cards for envelopes
1 yellow highlighter
1 fine tipped black marker
coloured pencils
small stickers (optional)
In this lesson you will: #1. create cacheted envelopes #2. be inspired through a look heart shaped stamps and postmarks from around the world #3. learn about the post office in LOVE, Saskatchewan. #4. when the envelopes have dried, you'll learn how to send your creations for Valentine Day postmarks. Collectors of all ages will enjoy this hands-on philatelic craft.
