Wayne is a lifelong stamp collector who began at age 8 and never stopped. He has been a member of the APS for more than 40 years and is the longest-term instructor at the APS Summer Seminar on Philately, having taught stamp technology courses for over 25 years. He is a past APS director, serves as an expertizer for the American Philatelic Society’s APEX, is an inducted member of the Writer’s Unit and Wisconsin Federation of Stamp Clubs Halls of Fame and the current president of the Errors, Freaks & Oddities Collectors Club. In August, 2018, Mr. Youngblood was awarded the Luff Award for Outstanding Service to the APS. Additionally, he was recognized as the 2019 Summer Seminar Distinguished Philatelist. Youngblood currently spends his time writing, editing, dealing and exhibiting. He edits the American Stamp Dealer & Collector magazine, as well as society publications; Collectors Club Philatelist (N.Y.), Duck Tracks (a publication of the National Duck Stamp Collectors Society), Confederate Philatelist (Confederate Stamp Alliance) and Topical Time (the journal of the American Topical Association). Wayne is a prolific writer; the author of 10 books and is a regular columnist for The American Philatelist, Linn’s Stamp News, Philatelic Exporter and others.
