The APS Summer Seminar on Philately is a yearly event held at the American Philatelic Center (APC), the home of the American Philatelic Society (APS) and the American Philatelic Research Library (APRL). The 43rd Annual Summer Seminar runs from Sunday, June 19 to Thursday, June 23, 2022.
The descriptions of the 2022 Summer Seminar on Philately courses are now available here or by going to https://stamps.org/summer-seminar.
One of the main events to highlight this year is the Distinguished Philatelist reception and dinner, where the Distinguished Philatelist award is presented. The award recognizes an individual who has contributed to the hobby for many years while displaying dedication, leadership and commitment. The evening begins at 4:45 p.m. with a social hour/reception at the “Big Spring Spirits”; followed by a buffet dinner and address by this year’s Distinguished Philatelist. Students registered in courses that meet on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 receive a Distinguished Philatelist Reception and Dinner ticket as part of their registration. There are a certain number of reception/dinner tickets available for purchase prior to June 1, 2022. Should you wish to purchase a ticket, the price is $75.
In addition, event recordings that are now available on the C3a learning platform are the “Understanding Auxiliary Markings and Their Importance” three-session course presented by Gary Loew, which is now available for purchase as on-demand recording by clicking here or going to https://stamps.org/learn/c3a-online-learning > Eneter C3a > “ECommerce” section (in the top menu bar), and selecting the course.
If you missed attending the November Live, Virtual Learning Events presented by David S. Ball, APS members can now view the recordings as a free APS member benefit: “47 Ways to Collect Air Mail” and “Polar Aerophilately”. Both recordings can be found by clicking here or going to https://stamps.org/learn/c3a-online-learning > Enter C3a > Airmail (under my courses tab).
