Practice with artifacts as you learn how stamps of the Washington-Franklin series are commonly altered and/or faked. Identify “look fors” most often used when determining authenticity (or not). Recognize the most common alterations and fakes. Spend two-days becoming more comfortable using a computer and other resources during the examination process.

***This course can be taken as a continuation of Washington-Franklins: Part 1 - Identification, or as a stand-alone for those individuals wishing to develop their expertizing skills and already possessing the skills necessary for identifying the stamps in this series.
A West Point graduate and career Army man, Guy Gasser, retired after 30 years of service to his country. He has collected stamps on and off for over 40 years and enjoys helping others learn about and enjoy philately. Guy has been a member of the APS since 2004 and also holds memberships in the U.S. Philatelic Classic Society, the U.S. Stamp Society, the Collector’s Club of NY and two St. Louis area stamp clubs.
