Day five of the Virtual Stamp Show begins with a behind the scenes look at how a stamp is designed.
At 9am eastern, designer Nancy Stahl describes her process. Stahl's most recent work for the U.S. Postal Service involves her original artwork used in the design of the 2020 issue for the 19th Amendment: Women's Vote forever stamp.
At 11am eastern, Cheryl R. Ganz, APS Board of Vice-Presidents and Curator Emerita of the Smithsonian National Postal Museum will present "Hometown Collecting: People and Places via Postcards and Postmarks."
The highlight of the day will be the second First Day Stamp Dedication at the Virtual Stamp Show.
The USPS "Thank You" stamp will be formally introduced at 2pm. Everyone can watch the dedication on YouTube!
The Dedication is hosted by the American Topical Association, with speakers from USPS, the American Philatelic Society and the American First Day Cover Society.
The American Topical Association will send a free First Day Program to anyone who visits its website or sends an email request.
