Educator Resources

Resources and materials are available to educators and youth club leaders for teaching youth the “stories behind the stamps” (history, social studies, literacy, mathematics, science, the arts, etc.) and for promoting an understanding of philately.

StampsTeach

The Stamps Teach program of the American Philatelic Society provides information and resources to K – 12 educators in a wide variety of content areas. The goal of the Stamps Teach program is to develop and share standards-based learning activities that use philatelic artifacts as instructional tools. To encourage classroom teachers to begin a Postage Stamp Token Economy, the American Philatelic Society will provide classroom teachers with used postage stamps to help get them started. Check out this PDF for a full description of the program and our “How To”  guide on starting a Postage Stamp Token Economy in your classroom. Material Request

* At this time, requests for postally used stamps are not being fulfilled due to depleted inventories.

We expect to be able to resume this service for teachers, club leaders and other educators in early 2024. Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this problem.
