The Great American Stamp Show is scheduled for August 12-15, 2021 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, in Rosemont, Illinois. The free event is co-sponsored by the United States Postal Service. The USPS will also have a large retail presence offering a selection of current U.S. stamps for sale.
The main event of the show is the bourse of 75+ dealers buying and selling stamps
and covers ranging in price from 25¢ to hundreds or thousands of dollars. Many of these dealers will also be bringing numismatic items since the numismatic show overlaps with the Great American Stamp show. On Saturday, August 14, a cachetmakers bourse will be held where cacheted covers will be sold by artists, with 11 total cachetmakers. The daughter of Chris Calle, who is a stamp designer credited with designing more than 200 worldwide postage stamps, including more than 30 for the USPS, will be participating in the Cachetmakers bourse since she is also an upcoming designer. Calle himself will be at the APS booth to sign and sell his covers.

The APS will also sponsor “Stamps by the Bucket” and “Covers by the Container” where youth may fill a bucket of stamps or a container of covers for only $1 ($5 for adults), which is part of the youth area along with a "spot the difference" activity and young collector/youth book to keep the next generation of stamp collectors engaged. The show will also include about 120 competitive exhibits competing for the AmeriCover, National Topical Stamp Show and StampShow grand awards as well as the Multiframe Champion of Champions.
Among the 800 plus frames you can view exhibits on subjects ranging from “Cupcakes” and “Poodles” to the “ProjectSkylab - The Story of America’s First Space Station”. Plan to peruse the many topics – an exhibit directory will be provided on our website (stamps.org/GreatAmericanStampShow) and in the show program. Also on display will be three of America’s most noteworthy postal items– the1918 24¢ Inverted Jenny airmail error, the discovery sheet of the 1952 4¢ Dag Hammarskjold yellow invert, and the earliest known U.S. Presidential “Free Frank”signed by George Washington. Make sure to vote for your favourite exhibit during the show!
