This is excellent news for those who love Halloween and terrible news for the easily-alarmed. Beware - the next paragraph will send shivers down your spine and strike terror into your heart.

The set of four stamps feature a variety of menacing silhouettes - lurking right outside of your window! A pair of ghosts (or perhaps ghouls) hover against an orange background in one stamp, and in another stamp, you've left your cat and pet raven outside and they want to be let back inside, please. A third stamp features three hovering bats against a purple background (and it goes without saying that this is unusual behavior for bats). The fourth stamp features a gigantic spider and web against a red background, which is enough to make any person think twice about opening the window for some air.

Spooky Silhouettes Forever stamps are digital illustrations created by artist Tyler Lang and art director and designer Greg Breeding. The U.S. Postal Service has scheduled the stamp dedication ceremony for October 11th at 5 p.m. EDT, at the Milford Pumpkin Festival in Milford, New Hampshire.
