Tim O'Connor, a retired oncologist, is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Tufts Medical School. His lifetime in philately includes memberships and positions in a number of societies and clubs including the Cheshire Connecticut Stamp Club (where he was welcomed as a young collector), the Philatelic Group of Boston, the American Philatelic Society, the U.S. Philatelic Classics Society, The Collectors Club, the British North America Philatelic Society, The Royal Philatelic Society London, the Florida Postal History Society, the North Carolina Postal History Society, the Postal History Society (US), the Postal History Society (UK). Tim has been honored with numerous philatelic awards among his most cherished are Grand Award Gold (Philatelic Show Boxborough 2016,) and Gold (World Stamp Show New York 2016).
He has also authored and co-authored several articles, many of which have concerned the postal history and postal laws of Boston and the Colonial U.S. His articles have appeared in many of the more notable postal history journals such as the Postal History Journal (US) and The Chronicle of the U.S. Classics Postal Issues, One of Tim's true joys in philately is as a Dr. Benjamin Franklin interpreter which he has portrayed at various events and venues including World Stamp 2016 (New York), the Chester County Historical Society, the Weston-Wellesley Lifetime Learning program, the Royal Philatelic Society London and the the Spellman Museum of Stamps & Postal History.
