The London 2020 International Stamp Exhibition, set for May 2-9, 2020 will not take place as scheduled, a reaction to the spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus.
The organizing committee made that announcement on Wednesday.
"In line with UK Government guidelines, it is now impossible for the exhibition to happen in May 2020. We have consulted with all our major partners in the planning of the show..."
Frank Walton, Chairman of the London 2020 Organizing Committee, said the event will take place from February 19-26, 2022.
The London exhibition is normally held every 10 years. The event was expected to feature 2,750 frames of competitive material. In addition, thousands of frames of stamp and postal history exhibits were scheduled.
The Royal Mail already released its collectible souvenir celebrating the London 2020 International Stamp Exhibition and marking the 180th anniversary of the Penny Black.
