Member Mailbox: Oaktoberfest

Last week, APS Caroline Williams wrote in to us about her experience hosting a table at her local Oaktoberfest celebration. As president and founder of the Chicago Muslims Green Team, Caroline works tirelessly to promote environmental stewardship — and as a philatelist, she often enlists the help of stamps to spread her message!

Caroline writes that she shared stamps and other philatelic materials provided by the APS with local families at the event, as well as information about Chicagopex and Boston 2026.. Children could learn about oak trees on stamps, make stamp bookmarks, and take stamps home to start their own collections. She says that many of the adults who stopped by her table shared with her that they collected stamps when they were children, or remembered that their parents had.

If you'll be attending Chicagopex later this month, be sure to say hello to Caroline, who will host a table at the show.

Hosting an educational philatelic event in the near future? We have stamps for you! Visit our Educator Resources page to learn more about and submit your materials request. Stamps are provided free for children's events; all others pay shipping.
