Audrey King, YPLF Class of 2025, has written in with exciting news about a stamp collecting workshop she hosted for her graduate school class. Audrey reports that the workshop featured a 15-minute presentation introducing the hobby, followed by a 10-minute opportunity to sort through stamps provided by the APS Education department. Or at least, 10 minutes were scheduled, but Audrey's fellow students were so engaged with the stamps that they stayed an additional 20 minutes after their class ended!

And interest didn't end there; Audrey writes that students from other classes also came over to pore over the stamps, staying for over an hour to pick out stamps to take home. She was also asked by the leader of a student club on campus to do the same presentation and bring stamps to a club meeting next semester.

"I got comments saying 'this is the best thing we've ever done in this room' and 'I never knew stamp collecting could be this fun!'" Audrey wrote. "Thank you for providing these materials to make my workshop such a success!"

Thank you, Audrey, for spreading the word of philately far and wide, and sharing your story with us!

If you'll be hosting a similar educational philatelic event, we have stamps for you. Visit our Educator Resources page to learn more about and submit your materials request. Stamps are provided free of charge for children's events; all others pay shipping.
