Stamps.org includes a completely rewritten search module for dealers and clubs. This module, while powerful, does function differently from the previous search tools.
The upgraded site is the beginning of a new approach to online communication from the American Philatelic Society. The goal is to develop a modern web presence that is mobile-friendly, well-organized and easy to use.
Here are step-by-step guides on using the search functions:
Search by Zip Code
To search by zip code:
Step 1:
Navigate to the search bar
Step 2:
Select the "filter by Zip Code" button under the search bar
Step 3:
Enter in the zip code you wish to search in the box labeled “Enter Zip Code”
Step 4:
Adjust your zip code search radius if desired and select “Set Filter”
Step 5:
Select “Search” at the main search bar and you will see only the zip code rage you've selected.
To remove the filter, click on the red X located in the far right of the search bar.
Search by State
To search by state:
Step 1:
Navigate to the search bar
Step 2:
Select "filter by Country/State" button under the search bar
Step 3:
Select the country and regions you wish to search in the dropdown menu. To search within the United States, select the blank option
Step 4:
Select “Set Filter” once you have selected the region you wish to search
Step 5:
Select “Search” at the main search area and you should see only the region you've selected.
To remove the filter, click on the red X located in the far right of the search bar.
Search by Service (Dealer Search Only)
To search Dealers by service:
Step 1:
Navigate to the search bar
Step 2:
Select the "filter by Services" button under the search bar
Step 3:
Select from the dropdown menu the dealer service you wish to search in the box labeled “Select Services Offered”
Step 4:
Select “Search” at the main search bar and you will see only the dealers who perform the service you've selected.
To remove the filter, click on the red X located in the far right of the search bar.
Combine Filters: You can combine the service filter with a geographic filter. For example, if you wish to see dealers who perform Appraisals in Pennsylvania, set the service filter to Appraisals and set your state filter to Pennsylvania. These selections will populate in the search bar, simply hit search.
Final Note
The new website makes use of some of the most current, proven technology. In order to advance the capabilities of the site, this technology may create some issues for older computers and, especially, older browsers. The new site uses the latest security technology and will require that your web browser also support these enhanced security measures. If you encounter issues accessing the site, we encourage you to consider updating to the most current versions of software that will work with your computer.
Microsoft browsers (Internet Explorer and Edge) have a reputation for being some of the most problematic web browser in common use. We strongly advise using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to minimize the issues you may encountered with the new STAMPS.org.
