Earlier this year, we announced that United States Postal Service will host two first day ceremonies and one special dedication at the 2025 Great American Stamp Show in Schaumburg, Illinois – but at the time, we weren’t able to say what two of those stamps would be. Now we’re back with more details on these and other special ceremonies you can attend at GASS!
The first day ceremony for the Boston 2026 USPS se-tenant pair will be held at 11 a.m. Central on Thursday, August 14 on the main stage at GASS. Thursday will also see the first day ceremony for the final Boston 2026 World Expo label (at 1 p.m. Central) and a United Nations Postal Administration first day of issue ceremony (at 3 p.m. Central – more details about this issue coming soon!).
On Friday, August 15 at 11 a.m. Central, the USPS will host a special dedication ceremony on the main stage for the recently announced 250 Years of Delivering Mail issues, the 250 Years of Delivering pane of 20 and the Putting a Stamp on the American Experience 32-page prestige booklet. At 1 p.m. Central, the National Duck Stamp Collectors Society will host a new issue ceremony, and at 3 p.m. Central, the Rattlesnake Island Local Post will unveil the designs of their 2025 issue.
Finally, on Saturday, August 16 at 11 a.m. Central, USPS will hold the first day ceremony for the Luna Moth stamp (non-machineable surcharge) – please note, this ceremony will be held on the second floor of the conference center and not on the show floor.
Additional information about these ceremonies will be announced via the GASS 2025 First Days page. For all the latest details about GASS 2025, be sure to check out and bookmark the show page.
See you in Schaumburg!
