Members of the British North America Philatelic Society (BNAPS) collect all aspects of the stamps and postal history of Canada and its Provinces and Territories before Confederation. BNAPS has been APS Affiliate 144 since 1986, and since about 2016 has contributed $1000US annually to the APS Youth Program.
When Covid-19 restrictions forced cancellation of the 2021 convention scheduled for Winnipeg, Manitoba, BNAPS decided to “Go Virtual”. The result, BNAPEX 2021 Virtual, opens on Thursday, 2 September. Convention Registration for BNAPEX 2021 Virtual is NOW OPEN to everyone, not just BNAPS members. Access to the convention is FREE, but easy online registration is required. Members and non-members should go to https://bnaps.org/, click on the “BNAPEX” tab and then the “REGISTRATION” tab, and follow the instructions.
BNAPEX 2021 Virtual offers 112 frames of exhibits from many different areas of BNA Philately. Registered visitors can view all pages of any exhibit in 16-page and then single page format. Single pages can be enlarged up to 6 times for closer viewing of individual stamps or cancels.
Viewable online Zoom meetings of seventeen (17) BNAPS Study Groups have been scheduled. In addition, videos of sixty (60) previously recorded philatelic presentations on different BNA subjects will be viewable online 24/7 during the convention.
More than thirty (30) dealers of BNA stamps, postal history and revenues are listed on the DEALERS tab. Email addresses and, where available, live links to dealer websites and/or eBay stores are provided.
Souvenirs available include booklets of the postally valid Souvenir Picture Postage™ stamp prepared for the show illustrated here. Anyone interested in the internal operations of another society is invited to “attend” the BNAPS Annual General Meeting at Noon EDT on Sunday, 5 September. At the end of the meeting Society Service and Virtual Exhibition Awards will be presented.
Anyone interested in British North America philately is invited to attend. We hope to “see” you there!
