Forensic Philately

What is forensic philately and how has it changed the world of authentication?

Scientific methods can help philatelists identify genuine, altered, faked, and forged items. Forensic philately includes the use of illumination, magnification, overlay techniques, and spectral analysis to assess the authenticity of an item.
