As has been mentioned on the APS website previously and in the American Philatelist and the Philatelic Literature Review we would like to remind and make our members and library patrons aware of some minor library service fee changes that will be effective on January 1, 2023. Due to the rising cost of postage and the need bring some of our fees in line with staffing and the services provided, we have made two minor fee changes that will commence in the new year.
The first fee change will involve members who borrow materials from the library. Currently the cost for borrowing materials from the APRL is $13 for the first item and then $1 for each additional item, up to five items total. In order to compensate for current postage rates the new fee structure for borrowing materials will be $15 for the first item and then remain at $1 for each additional item up to five items. The $2 increase will assist us in compensating for the postage needed to send the materials.
The second change will involve members or patrons who request scanning services from the library. Currently the cost for scans is $4 for the first page of scans and then 25 cents for each additional page. Starting in 2023 we will raise the cost slightly for the first page to $5 while keeping the 25 cents fee for each additional page.
We hope that our members and library patrons understand our decision and continue to freqent and use the services of the APRL. In 2023 and beyond we will continue to provide and endeavor to exceed your expectations of library service and our commitment to everyone who makes use of the library for their philatelic research.
