For British India stamps the most comprehensive and up to date priced catalog is the Stanley Gibbons Commonwealth & British Empire Stamps 1840-1940, which is issued every year. The same is applicable for Indian States (both Convention and Feudatory States) stamps. That said, the Scott Classic Specialized Catalogue of Stamps & Covers 1840-1940 lists two newly discovered States (Kotah and Tonk) that are not yet listed in the Stanley Gibbons catalog. Additionally, the detailed listing for Dungarpur State is much more detailed in Scott as compared to Stanley Gibbons.
